A Thin Line Between Love and Hate Lynn Whitfield as Brandi Webb,

My first video is about who Tanisha Holmes really is—the raw, unfiltered version of me and some of the moments that helped shape my journey. I remember watching A Thin Line Between Love and Hate and seeing Hollywood actress Lynn Whitfield as Brandi Webb, this beautiful, successful real estate businesswoman, and thinking, “I want to be a real estate agent like her!” Of course, I wasn’t trying to be like Brandi in the rest of the movie!

That moment stayed with me. And with a last name like Holmes, maybe working with homes was already destined to be part of my story. More than two decades later, I’m a real estate professional, licensed female General Contractor, entrepreneur, artisan, creator—and now I’ve even had my own television experience. When the Holy Spirit Speaks — Listen

“Walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.” — Galatians 5:16

Have you ever felt something deep inside telling you, “Don’t do it. Don’t go that way. Something isn’t right”—but you did it anyway?

For me, I call that the Holy Spirit speaking. You may call it your gut, intuition, or divine guidance. But I have learned through my own life that when the Holy Spirit speaks to me, I need to listen.

Sometimes our flesh, emotions, desires, and feelings become louder than what God is telling us. We know what we feel led to do, but we choose what we want instead. And sometimes we have to live through the consequences of that choice.

Who are you going to serve—the Spirit or the flesh?

This clip is personal because this is my life. I felt the warning. I went against it. And I learned from what came next.

But even through our wrong turns, I believe God can still have a purpose for our lives:

“For I know the plans I have for you…” — Jeremiah 29:11

Andrea Garay with Meritage Homes was truly a blessing during my HGTV House Hunters journey. Andrea worked closely with Nicole and me through the home-search process and later helped behind the scenes with filming.

Although Andrea was a last-minute cut from the show, I wanted to make sure she got her spotlight!

Spotlight the Team: Craig Smolen

Craig Smolen, Branch Manager at MTH Mortgage, played an important role behind the scenes of my HGTV House Hunters journey.

When we ran into challenges getting releases and approvals through the proper channels, Craig stepped in and helped get things moving. His assistance helped us continue the process for Nichlas Willis and his family.

In real estate, an agent can show homes all day, but you also need a strong lender in your corner to help get the deal to the closing table. I appreciate Craig for stepping in when we needed him and helping make this experience possible.
